Well. I'll have you know that the big ideas, the real gut wrenching spine tinglers, they come from this big pool I visit SE of here. It's a long way away, it's hard to get to and you have to jump a barbed fence to get in. To fish out an idea, you have to use a special rod which doesn't work if you're too depressed or tired or energetic. You have to be feeling just right for the rod to light up and start working. And, even then, you have to make sure no one is around when you're fishing. Otherwise the big ones don't come. You must be completely alone, and no one can even pop in for a quick hello.
The smaller ideas come from this little paddling pool in my backyard. It's much easier to get to. You can fish the small ones out with your hands, practically with your eyes closed. I urge you to try it. Admittedly, the small ideas are only small and they won't change your life. But they're still worth something and they're funny to look at – wallowing about, shouting and screaming nonsense, peeing everywhere.
Signed.

Hell bound. Part I
Trousers.
Size?
Gee, I’ve never known. I’m pretty skinny. What would you say?
Try these.
They look a bit big.
How about these ones; here, try them on.
These look okay.
Try them.
No, I can tell they're good.
Suit yourself. You want a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt? You have a choice.
I only get one or the other?
That's right.
How do they breathe?
Polyester. Made over in Figi for nothing. They don't breathe.
I'll get short sleeve then.
There's only extra large in the short sleeve. Here, put it on for today and we’ll order you another. Put those pants on too.
…
Ha, look at you.
Yeah. Can I order a small shirt?
Done. How are the trousers?
They're fine. How long will it take?
Will what take?
For the shirt to come through.
Hard to say. They send them over from Fiji.
...
You need to look after your uniform. You need to keep it ironed and keep your shirt tucked in. They will always be watching you. Also, keep your hair tied back. Hair can't touch the shoulders. And before you come in tomorrow, have a shave.
Sure.
And you'll need to bring your own belt.
Sure.
Now, join the others.
Do you think I will… you know. Do you think they'll…?
It's best not to talk about that.
Is it true what about the rooms? What they've been saying?
We don't talk about it. Not even someone in my position. I wouldn't go talking about it if I were you.
I’m sorry. I was just wondering.
It’s okay. Just keep your head down, sport.
Okay. Gees these shirts are itchy as hell. Do they get better after a wash?
That’s the last of your troubles.
Pardon?
Nothing. Go on, join the others.

Him: Really? I've been lucky this year. Everyone in the office is coughing.
***
Her: Yesterday, I tested if he even cares about me.
Her friend: And?
Her: No. Not one bit.

Him: Yeah, same.
